This looks like a nice spot and very convenient off the ICW but there were crab pots everywhere and it was far more shallow, even at high tide, than the charts read. We ended up picking up anchor and moving to an anchorage further down to avoid being stressed about swinging in current and hitting a crab pot throughout the night. I'm sure it can be a good spot if you find the perfect spot but beware! Very tricky.

This is a very scenic anchorage. We were there with two other boats, and several more could have fit. The mud bottom held great, even in the 30kt winds that were blowing. The depths are around to 10' – 15' once you get inside. The anchorage sits back from the main channel, so wakes from big boats dissipate before rocking you too much, and smaller boat wakes are a non-issue. We would stay here again.

Terrific, isolated anchorage. We used Navionics to feel our way in, entering halfway between the green and red markers. Nice protection from north wind. We dinghied to Nocatee Landing to take the dog ashore, a bit of a hike but worth it. From here we were able to make Ferdnandina with a long day.

Shoaling has increased on the south side of the inlet. We entered just south of the green marker and had no trouble at low tide (we draw 4'5"). A small catamaran made it way in, but we anchored about 300' from the ICW.

This anchorage is pretty close to as far north as you can anchor before getting to the Palm Valley stretch. There is a decent amount of current and you will swing with tide changes. It is also exposed to wake from the ICW, but after sundown it was very quite. Holding was just ok, it took a little extra work to get our 55lb Mantus to grab but once it did it was very good. Judging by what was on the anchor the next morning there is just a lot of oysters on the bottom that the anchor needed to get through.

We had no issue entering or exiting and found the Navionics sonar charts to be a very accurate representation of depths. Start your entry at R26 and head NE until level with G25 before turning more E.

There were quite a few crab pots but they thinned out as we went further in.

Very peaceful and quiet. Get a little bit of a wake in the evening from powerboats passing by. Great stop after a long day. We have a 5' draft. Be careful in low tide.

Arrived expecting the worst, but found the best. Saw only one crab pot at the back of the achorage. Shallow entry (5') at low tide. Anchored in 8' depths MLW. Only boat in that anchorage. Reported abandoned boats have been removed. Room for at least 10 other boats in this area.

We pulled and found five boats already anchored. Depths are good but can go to nothing in a heartbeat. There was a SE wind around 12 kts and gusty. We tried a number of places to try and get our 40 pound delta anchor to set. Each time it would slowly drift. We finally gave up and moved up the ICW a few miles and spent the night. Don't know what the problem was as all of the other boats seemed fine.

We anchored just inside the bay in ~15' of water with all chain and our Mantis 55#. We had plenty of swing room and enjoyed the anchorage. The anchor had some mud on it when it came up.

If you require more than 4' at low tide, stay away. We attempted 3 times, different directions / angles. Went from 10' to 4.2' within seconds. Ran aground three times. We gave it a good college try.

Approaching from the south enter one third of the way up the entrance. Saw 7’ at dead low on the way in, which increased to 11’ 150yds in from the ICW. Very soft mud, so holding not good on first two tries (Delta 35lb anchor) but then grabbed solid. Pretty spot

We were there during a thunderstorm with about 20kts of wind. Gy quiet. Not much to do with very little shore access. I enjoyed the night but not sure if it would be good in warmer (buggier) conditions or with stronger winds.

There is adequate depth when entering from the south end, it helps to move around about a third of the way into the curve where it widens out. However we will not likely use it again because there is a surprising amount of current flowing around this curve which can make dropping the hook a little tricky. Also, there are just way too many crab pots and it is a pretty exposed place.

We arrived here on a -.7 tide and thought we'd use the north entrance which calls out greater depths. The north entrance was completely dry and the south entrance quickly shoaled to about 5 feet. Not a viable anchorage for larger boats.
