Anchorage Review for Julington Creek

Draft: 4.0'Overall Rating:4Holding:5Wind Protection:4Current Flow:3Wake Protection:3Scenic Beauty:4Ease of Shopping:3Shore Access:3Cell Service:5We spent a week hanging out here on our Lagoon 410. There's room here to anchor with good holding in mud. Watch out for crab pots.
Going ashore is a little tricky. We bought fuel and the Julington Creek Marina on the other side of the bridge and they let us tie up our dinghy while we went out to eat and hit the grocery store. The docks on west side of the bridge are not as friendly to allowing people to tie up, I've read, but didn't experience.
There is some wake from power boaters on the west side of the no wake signs, but not too bad depending on how close to shore you anchor.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Nice marina where you can do some of your own work. Rates are very reasonable and the office staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. It's a great place to be in heavy weather with a lot of protection from every direction.
As one reviewer noted it can be tricky to get on and off the platforms that the boats are tied to. Otherwise though the marina is good place to be to get some work done or to hold up for a weather window to head out through Jacksonville.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

This anchorage is pulling off of the ICW and finding some decent depth. Watch for crab pots.
There is no protection from any direction from the wind and the current is very strong here. There is no shore access. It's just a decent place to stop when you need top stop and can't go much further.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Stayed for two nights because of the wind the second day. Had decent protection from the north wind that day. Short dinghy ride across the ICW to the Fort Pierce city marina where there's a dinghy dock.

Lock comment on Cape Canaveral Lock

Draft: 4.0'Shawn Murphy's comments were spot on. This is a challenging place to tie up with just two people on a 41' catamaran. It took us probably 15 minutes to get tied up and get on the wall. The wind was pushing us off the wall, which made it more challlenging. Honestly, I do everything I can to avoid going through here again.

Very good holding, but you do have to be careful, because you can into some sandbars pretty easily. We anchored a little off of one and the next morning SeaTow stopped by to see if we were grounded, because we were so close to a sandbar.

Great marina. We snagged a mooring ball for about 5 days. Easy access to some restaurants. Got an Uber to a nearby Publix for some grocery shopping.
Price for the mooring ball and fuel was very reasonable. Nice clean showers and laundry area.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. If we are back in the area, we will stay here again.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Marina Review for Norseman Shipbuilding Corp.

Cannot say enough good about the Norseman. They were able to fit us in to repair give us a place to get our saildrive repaired after fouling the prop outside of No Name. They also took care of a few other projects for us. Very reasonable prices and easy to work with. We splashed right before the bridges closed for lunch, so they invited to a company lunch while we waited to head out. Really a great place, if I ever need work again in the Miami area, this is where I would go.

Be careful on the approach as the depths can get shallow. Once you get into the anchorage, look for sandy spots to set your anchor.
There were not a lot of other boaters here, which was really nice. Absolutely beautiful place to stay. When the wind is from the westerly directions, there's not much protection, but there's some from the east. You can see Boca Chita Key from here, easy to dinghy over to it, but it's $25 to dock there. Plus the lighthouse is closed for renovations.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Anchorage Review for Outside No Name Harbor

LOA: 41'
Draft: 4.0'Overall Rating:4Holding:5Wind Protection:3Current Flow:3Wake Protection:1Scenic Beauty:5Ease of Shopping:3Shore Access:5Cell Service:5As other reviewers have mentioned, the biggest drawback to this anchorage is the wake generated from commercial and recreational boaters, though this typically settles down after dark. A few times though at night it did get bad.
On the upside, there's a dinghy dock right inside the state park, where you can walk to a grocery store about 1.5 miles away. The restaurants in town are good and a bit better priced than the two in the state park.
Holding is very good. Clay/mud/sand. You do need to watch out for unmarked crab pots when pulling up your anchor. I watched crab fisherman lay a string of crab pots about 100' off of the seawall and there were no floating markers of any kind. Despite the wake, I would stay here again.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

We draw 4' and took our time getting in. Had some wake from the powerboaters as we were outside the No Wake signs. Looked like you could beach a dinghy south of the visitors center, but we were only there for one night, so we didn't go ashore.

Not much wind protection when you have a north wind. If you stay south of the Slow Speed sign, I'm sure the wake is better. That was full when we got here, so we went to the north side and got some pretty good wake.
The park to the west side is beautiful, easy shore access at the beaches. Nice place to walkView location on the Waterway Guide Explorer

Draft: 4.0'Overall Rating:3Holding:5Wind Protection:4Current Flow:4Wake Protection:1Scenic Beauty:2Ease of Shopping:3Shore Access:3Pet Friendly:2Cell Service:5We stayed here on two separate occasions. The biggest issues is that there is a great deal of wake. We were within sight of Safe Harbor Rybovich. Even going slow the large yachts created a lot of wake. The bigger problem with it though is the smaller powerboats that zip through on the ICW. I'm sure if you anchored further north, beyond the slow speed signs, it would be better.
Holding was very good, we have a Rocna Vulcan 25, never once felt like we were dragging.
There is a public dock to the south of here, but then there's also a dinghy dock with security at the Riveria Beach City Marina. It's $16 a day and you have to be back before 5, because the office closes and they can't buzz you back in.View location on the Waterway Guide Explorer
