This is a decent anchorage. 8' water the shoal is gradual, so was able to set the anchor on the edge, with plenty of rode. You can anchor along the stretch of the ICW so there is plenty of room. Boat traffic waves basically stopped at sundown. Great place to get ashore on the west side with the dinghy.

We took dinghy to shore, let the dogs feel land again and swam for about an hour. Many boats during the daylight hours but very quiet at night. We had 5-10 kt winds, kept the bugs away, so it was pleasant to sit outside to relax.

Very good holding. We were about 100 yards north of the manatee sign in about 6 1/2 to 7 feet of water. Watch for shallow area on chart. Excellent cell phone coverage.Tide was approaching low when we entered the anchorage.
