Great wide open anchorage, good depths, S-SE wind died down to nothing overnight. Very comfortable quiet night some mud on chain/anchor when pulled up. No cell service, though sometimes one bar(Verizon)

A BEAUTIFUL anchorage just off the ICW tucked behind little island. No wind, so can't answer to holding. Put out 90' in the 17' of water. (Anchor came up muddy next morning). 2 fishing boats skirted by before 8pm, and one at around 6am next morning. Lots of mosquito looking bugs in the morning, but were not biting :) Would definitely stay here again.

Great team work here at this tidy Marina. Friendly also. They do appreciate a call in prior to arrival so they know where to put you. They were so busy yet efficiently took care of all of us and got us under way.

A large quiet wide open space with depths 7' (lowest we saw)11'. Plenty of room to get away from ICW wakes. Wind was a consistent 12+ knots and shifted all night giving us a 180 degree swing. Great hold though was choppy due to wind. Anchor came up with sand, mud and shell mixture. Would definitely stay here again.

Many thanks to the operator of this bridge He had it opened in time for us to go right under. Called when we were in the channel and visible to him. There was current flowing thru channel making it a bit squirrelly. ALL the fishing boats moved aside for us as we came thru….. PS, they said they are fishing Reds.

Many thanks to the gentleman manning this bridge. Called him a mile out saying we were southbound. Said to continue coming and he would have bridge open for us. Last markers prior to bridge he reassured us to continue present course and speed. The bridge was open for us, and minimized the road traffic's wait time. Skillfully executed and appreciated by all. Thank you.

Called to notify bridge when we were a mile out heading south. Gentleman responded he would have bridge open for us. Passing last markers prior to bridge we were again told to keep up present speed and course and it will be open. And it was. This guy is an artist at clearing bridge for us yet also minimizing the road traffic's wait. Many thanks to a job very well done. Is appreciated by all.

This was a peaceful nights stop back on Dec 4,2023. We were met there at their free dock by Keith and another sailor also recently docked. We met the dock master Dan just as we were setting out for a walk to Lowe's for a grub screw. Dan offered us the use of a vehicle. Were so thankful for this. Once at the store, our tiredness set in. We had dinner at the Universities beautiful cafeteria along with many energized happy students. The folks here are dedicated to reaching out in a friendly welcoming way with knowledge of not only their incredible maritime ministries, but also local resources if needed. Was a quiet rest filled night on the dock. Would definitely stop here again with hopes to have more time to explore Elizabeth City.

With3'9" draw, we chose this out of the way area. Anchor held but only a gentle breeze for wind. Watch the tides, current and shoaling. We got pushed over and shoaled. Were able to get off and re-anchored closer to channel. Lots of grass on anchor chain in morning.

Holding was very good, mud. Fishing buoys lining both sides throughout anchorage. Depth good for us at 7'
