Wicomico River, MD

Not to be confused with the Wicomico Rivers on the lower Bay (Great Wicomico and Little Wicomico), this Wicomico River has a common mouth with the Nanticoke but heads off more easterly towards Salisbury. The river is winding and narrow with side creeks covered in water lilies and marsh grass. These lowlands are punctuated by wooded areas with architectural mix of homes (brick ranches, bungalows and small castle-like mansions) with private beaches, ramps and docks. There is a lot of small (mostly pontoon) boat traffic on this river in season. Vibrant Salisbury, MD is a popular Wicomico destination.
