Lovely anchorage. Easy in and out, good holding in mud and current kept us straight. We got waked by a couple of fishing boats, but otherwise found it very peaceful and well protected. We had floating mats of weeds drifting by in the morning, without any issues. Did not go ashore. Great last stop before Mobile.

Big Briar Creek was it beautiful. There is a great beach on Gravine Island just around the next bend from the creek entrance. We were able to tender over and stretch. There was a great sunset on our way back to the boat. You can see the island on google maps. At low tide the entrance was only 6 feet.

Good deep water anchorage. Good hold in muddy bottom. Well protected. Anchored with 3 other boats. Room for several more. Very quiet yet close to Mobile. A few fishing boats on the cut-off channel. Serene and peaceful.

11-2-23 Anchored several hundred feet past marked anchorage. Lower Hall Landing tide station 0.4 feet, anchored in 11 ft of water. Tide 1.7 feet. Good holding in mud. Room for several boats, some local fishing traffic. Great place to wait for calm conditions crossing Mobile Bay.

Excellent location for scenery and solitude. We were joined by another boat later in the evening, but there is room for several boats. The tide will swing you around so make sure your anchor is firmly in the mud. Have your water hose at the ready when retrieving your chain and anchor. It will be covered in mud.

Turn off LDB at mile marker 12.2 into the Tensaw Cutoff with 20+ feet of water at entrance and no less than 13 feet mlw in the center of the channel for the one mile trip back to the Big Briar Creek turn off. Big Briar Creek carries a minimum 9 foot depth back well beyond where we anchored. Protection is good all-around and the only boat traffic was a couple of fishing boats. Holding is good in mud. The creek is wide enough to swing but the current kept us in the middle of the river on one anchor. Shore access by dinghy is further to the east on the Tensaw cutoff where there is a sand beach across from where you enter the Tensaw River. Cell phone reception was 1 bar ATT and Verizon and 2 bars 5G for T-Mobile with adequate internet connectivity.

Anchored just before WG icon closer to opening in 12ft of water on one anchor. Stayed diagonal with current. Some fishing boats passed by but slowed down. Good mud.

Wide anchorage with enough current to keep you straight. Plenty of depth. Good anchor holding. Take the dink east to the island used by locals. Dogs can go ashore.
