The marina location, facilities and staff are 5 star, but the ferry wakes are a problem. In addition to the ferries we got there when the waves were coming right in. Unlike most DNR locations there is not a wrap around breakwater because of the ferries. The waves were 2 to 3 at the dock and we ended up getting a hotel for the night. The boat was tied off fine with extra lines and posts so no damage, but too rough to sleep.

What a nice stop and enchanting town. Bill and his team have put a ton of effort in improving the facilities and their customer service is excellent. They have nice dock, excellent showers, a marine supply store, repair facilities all located in a protected cove. They also have a golf cart to use to go visit the grocery store or one of the many restaurants in town.

Nice stop at the mouth of the Potomac River. They have everything you could need here. Fuel, pumpout, repairs, boat lift etc. Very nice people own and operate this facility.

Great stop on the Chesapeake. We were there for a Saturday night and they had a band. Nice bar and restaurant with reasonable prices. The pool was not filled with water yet. They are doing a ton of work around the place and it looks good.

Excellent locations right in the downtown area of Yorktown. The dockhands are first rate. They have a tall ship that sails out of there 3 times daily. If you need the shore facilities, you might not rate 5 stars, but 4. Free trolley and easy to walk. Farmers market on Saturday is also very good.

The Coinjock Marina and Restaurant is a good stop on the way to Norfolk. The dockhands are as good as any. They really pack the boats in. We ate at the restaurant Mother's Day weekend so it was crowded. The prime rib was good to great depending on your liking. If you prefer a salt and pepper only seasoning you will rate it good. If you like marinated meat you will think it is great.

We stayed at Waterside for 11 days. The staff is excellent and is knowledgeable. The pump out needs repairs and is very weak. The noise level during the day is moderate to high. At night very quiet. You are in the center of Norfolk with easy access to Portsmouth via ferry.

Great place to stop and enjoy all they have to offer. Henry is a great guy and makes you feel welcome. The golf carts are great and make getting around super easy. The town offers quite a few restaurants and there is a map of historic homes that are fun to see. We will be coming back to River Forest Manor and Marina whenever we are in the area.
