Mobjack Bay, VA

Four rivers–the East, North, Ware and Severn–feed the 10-mile-long expanse of Mobjack Bay. This cruising ground has its own particular charm (as well as its own severe chop when wind and tide are in opposition). This wide tributary is distinctly salty with pelicans wheeling overhead and dolphins chasing mullet into airborne flashes of silver. Its creeks are remote by land so all is quiet and rural.
